Getting Here

Nestled between the cities of Victoria to the south and Nanaimo to the north, Cowichan Lake is easily accessible by ground, ferry, air and rail.

By Road
Cowichan Lake is an hour and a half (88.2k) from Victoria and one hour (71.2k) from Nanaimo. Take the TransCanada Hwy to the Cowichan Lake turn-off on the north side of Duncan. Cowichan Lake is 25 minutes (31k) away along Hwy 18.

    By Air
  • Victoria:
    Victoria International Airport (YYJ) is served with more than 60 daily departures and convenient non-stop or one-stop service to every major Canadian city. Direct flights include Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, San Francisco and Las Vegas.

  • Nanaimo:
    Fly into Nanaimo Airport (YCD) then drive one hour to Cowichan Lake.

  • Maple Bay:
    Daily flights by seaplane from nearby Maple Bay to Vancouver Airport or Downtown (25 minutes). This seaplane terminal is served by Harbour Air
    and Saltspring Air.

 

By Water
BC Ferries offers numerous scenic routes from
the mainland to Vancouver Island. Cross Georgia
Strait to from Tsawwassen to Victoria, or from Tsawwassen or Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo
(Duke Point).

  • Brentwood Bay (Saanich Peninsula) to
    Mill Bay

  • The Coho Ferry from Washington State

  • Victoria Clipper between Seattle
    and Victoria

  • Victoria Express passenger ferry
    between Port Angeles, Victoria and
    the San Juan Islands.

By Rail
